Just wanted to let everyone know the 2009 FVBC Schedule is now available both online and as a Printable Version.

Head-Count for FVBC Banquet
I need a head-count for this year's banquet. If you are planning to attend, please email me at mboyd511@foxvalleybassclub.com and let me know if you are bringing a guest (wife, friend, whatever).
The banquet will be Saturday, Dec. 6th at the Darboy Club. Social Hour begins at 6:00pm, dinner should be about 7:00pm.
We ask that everyone attending bring a $5.00 gift to exchange, and we will be holding a fund raising raffle again for a new rod & reel (and possibly other goodies as well) so bring your green-backs!!
If you have questions, feel free to contact me.

Season Winding Down - Website Updated!
The TOC was another rousing success ... at least for "Mr. Bass" John Seider!! ;-)
Yep, John finished up the season in style by winning the Triple Crown: Mr. Bass Award, Annual Big Bass Award & the TOC (Tournament of Champions).
The TOC was held this year on Big Green and the bite was fair for most anglers. Second Place went to Scott Nachtwey with Tom Vander Weilen pulling out 3rd with some last minute heroics in the final 30 minutes of competition. Big Bass honors for the day went to Steve Huston .. hey Steve, if you're only going to catch one fish - you at least made it the RIGHT fish!!
FVBC's website has gotten a long-over-due face lift! Hope you guys like the new look. I really think the more professional look says a lot about our club. Be sure to check it out at www.foxvalleybassclub.com .
Since the last Blog we elected new officers for 2009. Brian Weinberg will remain as Club President and yours truly will hang on to the Sec/Treasurer position. New to the Officer Corps is our VP, Tom Vander Weilen. Welcome Tom - We're sure you'll make a great VP! (By the way ... the VP's most important job is to bring Goodies to the December meeting!!)
Next Club Meeting is Wednesday, November 19th. If you have Club By-Law Amendment Changes you'd like to submit for vote, I need those by the start of this meeting for them to be considered for 2009.
Saturday, December 6th is the Annual Club Banquet. We will again be convening at the Darboy Club - 6:00pm Social Hour, Dinner at 7:00pm. It would be very helpful for me to have a head-count a few weeks prior to the banquet, so please let me know if you plan to attend (and if you are bringing a guest - wife - or significant other) so I can let the folks at the Darboy Club know in advance. The menu again will be the DC's fabulous Chicken and Beef dinner - always a favorite!!
See you all at the November Meeting!

Final TOC Standings are Set!
This past Saturday wrapped up the season for FVBC's qualifying tournaments and the points have been tallied to determine the line-up for this year's Tournament of Champions. Keep in mind, while the club fishes 8 qualifying events, for the Final TOC standings only an angler's best 6 scores are tallied. The top 11 anglers in the points standings qualify for this year's TOC scheduled for Saturday, September 20th. The 2008 Final Standings can be viewed by Clicking Here.
Congratulations to John Seider for once again qualifying #1 this year making him the 2008 FVBC "Mr. Bass" Award winner. John proved to be "the man to beat" throughout the season, accumulating 2 wins, including this past weekend's final tournament on Shawano Lake. John really finished the season in style too, by bringing in not only the day's heaviest bag, but also the biggest bass of the season ... a real whopper largemouth tipping the scale at 6.2 pounds!!
Our next club meeting is 7:00 pm, Wednesday, September 17th at Hitter's Sports Bar in Kimberly. This is a very important meeting, as we will appoint a TOC committee in charge of selecting the location of this season's TOC.
There has also been some interest in scheduling a "Fun Fall Fishing Outing" for this year. If interested we can discuss this at the September meeting.
September is also the month we elect new club officers to carry us into 2009. Just for the record ... Yes I will be accepting nominations once again for the Club Secretary Treasury position.
Jut a note here ... I have not yet crunched the numbers officially, but I think most members would agree that 2008 was a great year for the FVBC. Fish catching was great all season and I'm guessing overall numbers were up for the whole club. In my opinion, the club did a good job of choosing good lakes at good times, the weather was kind to us for the most part, and of course the club as a whole is improving their fishing skills on a year to year basis. That factor alone is testament to what our club is all about ... camaraderie, having fun fishing and learning more about how to catch bass from one another!!
Hats off to all members for another great season and Good Luck to all the TOC contestants!!

It's Been Great Year So Far!!
It really has been a great year so far for the FVBC! Seems we've been hitting the right bodies of water at the right times and the number of fish coming to the scales at our club tournaments has been impressive. This past weekend was no exception!
On Saturday, July 19th, the club fished the section of the Menominee River known as The Upper Scott Flowage and although there were only 5 boats in this event, the fishing was good and all but 1 boat came in with a 6 fish limit (and the 1 boat that didn't had boat issues early in the day and lost some of their precious fishing time). To see the results from this tournament Click Here.
On Sunday, the club launched just up the road on Lake Noquebay. This event had a few more anglers competing (8 boats), and still the fishing was pretty good for everyone with everyone bringing in fish, and 5 of the 8 eight boats bringing in limits. Weights in this tournament were tight, with the top 4 weights all within a pound of one another and the 5th place team only ounces below that! To view results from this event Click Here.
Now, with only 2 more Qualifying tournaments left in the season, the Club Standings are tightening up and the race is on for who will make the Club's TOC (Tournament of Champions) and who will take home this season's Mr. Bass Award! Keep in mind that although we fish 8 events per season, only an angler's top 6 finishes count toward the final point tally ... so at this stage, it's still any body's guess who'll come out on top this year!!
Our next event will be on the Cloverleaf Chain, Friday, August 15th. That's right ... it's a night tournament, with fishing hours running from 6:00 pm to 2:00 am! make sure you bring a few energy drinks and plenty of bug spray for this contest!:-)
I'd also like to welcome the club's newest member, Pete Sauberlich. Pete joined up at our last picnic/meeting, and fished his 1st club tournament Sunday on Noquebay. Apparently it was a good start for him, as he and his partner, Scott Nachtwey, took 2nd Place honors for the day.
Welcome Pete ... Glad you hooked up with us!! (Pun Intended!!)
The next meeting of the FVBC will be Wednesday August 20th. For this meeting we will be back at our regular meeting place, Hitter's Sports Bar in Kimberly.
See You There!!

July's a Busy Month!
The club was able to make up T-1 postponed earlier this season due to high winds. Launching from the Winneconne Park ramp, club members scattered throughout the system from the Wolf River to Lake Winnebago. A total of 8 boats, 15 anglers, boated 41 bass for a total of just over 89 pounds.
The biggest limit brought in was from Virgil and his guest Dave - 16.48 pounds. The day's big bass honors went to Steve Huston and Dave Martens with a great 4.23 pound smallie. For full results of this tournament Click Here.
This Wednesday, July 16, we will be holding our final Club Picnic of the summer season, followed by our monthly meeting. Let's all cross our fingers the weather gods are kind to us and hold off the rain until we're done with our festivities.
Once again, we will be meeting at Sunset Park in Kimberly (top of the hill) at around 5:30pm.
Bring a dish to pass and a big appetite!!
At this meeting, we will be drawing for tournaments T-5, T-6 ( our 2nd weekend event of the year to be held on the Menominee River [Upper Scott Flowage] on Sat. July 19 and then Lake Noquebay on Sun. July 20). We'll also be drawing partners for T-7, a night fishing tournament scheduled for the Cloverleaf Chain on Fri. August 15th.
See you folks at the Picnic!!
